A Taste of, Star Wars: The Old Republic
Aug 18th @ 8:27PM
Recently I’ve had the opportunity to play the beta for Star Wars: The Old Republic. Since I’m a huge fan of the franchise, I was excited to see an MMO for it. I’d never played Star Wars Galaxies, mainly because I never had the chance, but seeing its sordid history I’m glad I wasn’t tainted by it. SWtOR (as I and some friends refer to it) is set 3,500 years before the films, and 300 years after the events of Knights of the Old Republic. You choose between either Republic or Empire as far as factions go. The Empire is the “evil” faction of course and the Republic the “good.”
E3: Nintendo Press Conference
Jun 7th @ 11:31AM
This is a big event for the gaming industry, it’s supposed to debut the next Nintendo console, and an entrance into current gen gaming tech. Nintendo opened with scenes from Zelda games with music provided from a live orchestra. Very classy. We can assume this means a return to the franchise. Which will be very [...]
E3: Sony Press Conference
Jun 6th @ 8:15PM
This is maybe the one I’ve most anticipated. Because I want to know what tricks Sony has up it’s sleeve. Microsoft has major Kinect support and some neat things all around for the console. It will be interesting to see how Move counters the Kinect wave. Especially on the multi-platform games such as ME3 and [...]
E3: Ubisoft Press Conference
Jun 6th @ 5:06PM
Ubisoft has been around for a while. Nearly three decades actually. It’s been in the publishing and developing side of gaming for at least half of the companies existence. Doing everything in house has been working out really well for them, despite a pension for delays. All in all, this press conference should be great. Ubi [...]
E3: EA Press Conference
Jun 6th @ 2:36PM
EA is the largest video game publisher in the world. So it’s no doubt they have their own press conference. Of course EA kicked it off with a trailer and demo for Mass Effect 3. Probably one of their biggest games now that it’s on 360 and PS3. They focused on larger scale battles and [...]
E3: Microsoft Press Conference.
Jun 6th @ 12:14PM
Microsoft started off E3 with 10 minutes of gameplay from Moder Warfare 3. Coming away from those 10 minutes, it felt as though MW3 is going to be a non-stop action movie that you experience. This may be a good thing for some people, but when it was referenced as some of the “greatest storytelling” [...]
Assassins Creed: Revelations, My Take
May 26th @ 11:48AM
A few weeks ago Ubisoft did a painfully exciting teaser for the next Asassins Creed game on Facebook. Then Game Informer got the scoop on the next title in the franchise, Revelations. GIs also got a great hub of information here. Anyone that’s a fan of the series probably has already heard all the exciting [...]
PlayStation Network Restoration
May 14th @ 7:13PM
Good news for Playstation 3 owners. You can now download an update for the system software. It’s a decent sized update that took about 8-12 minutes to download and install. Apparently North America will be the first region to have the PSN rolling restart. You can check out a map of the USA that will [...]
